We have seen many RE test bikes run the streets of India and get road tested and now another has joined the battle.  A picture of an Interceptor 650 test model popped up on the internet and the speculation is wild!<\/p>\n<p>Some reports say it&#8217;s an upcoming Interceptor 650-based scrambler.  This seems plausible as the popularity of off-road motorcycles has skyrocketed recently.  However, there seem to be no changes to the suspension, tires or wheels.  The styling of the test bike also corresponds to that of the regular RE Interceptor.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the only noticeable change is the new exhaust system &#8211; a two-in-one system with a single muffler instead of the dual exhaust setup the bike currently gets.  This is an interesting change as it would change the rumbling exhaust sound of the motorcycle. It was believed that this upcoming scrambler would be based on the Interceptor 650 \/ Continental GT650, which would share the same platform and powertrain as this one.  Interestingly, earlier this year it was confirmed that a new 650 Adventure motorcycle is also in preparation.<\/p>\n<p>However, this could simply be an update to the bike, so the 2022 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, which is significantly less exciting but equally plausible news.
