{"id":7994,"date":"2021-12-13T13:59:16","date_gmt":"2021-12-13T13:59:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/advwisdom.com\/a\/bournemouth-university-graduate-youtuber-the-girl-on-a-bike-wins-award-11\/"},"modified":"2021-12-13T13:59:16","modified_gmt":"2021-12-13T13:59:16","slug":"bournemouth-university-graduate-youtuber-the-girl-on-a-bike-wins-award-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/advwisdom.com\/a\/bournemouth-university-graduate-youtuber-the-girl-on-a-bike-wins-award-11\/","title":{"rendered":"Bournemouth University graduate youtuber The Girl on a Bike wins award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>  ONE <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bournemouthecho.co.uk\/news\/districts\/bournemouth\/\" class=\"section-link\">BOURNEMOUTH<\/a> The university graduate and YouTuber, who had to undergo seven operations after a car accident, won a national prize for her content.\n<\/p>\n<p>  &#8216;The Girl On A Bike&#8217;, also known as Vanessa Ruck, is a 35-year-old rising star in the motorcycle world.\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"subscription-content\">\n<p>  Vanessa was named Best Social Media Channel and Most Inspirational Rider at the Motorbike TV Awards.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bournemouthecho.co.uk\/resources\/images\/13290900.jpg?type=article-full\" title=\"Bournemouth Echo: The Girl on a Bike won an award for their motivational journey\" alt=\"Bournemouth Echo: The Girl on a Bike won an award for their motivational journey\" class=\"editor-image\"\/><\/p>\n<p>  After Vanessa was hit by a car while cycling in 2014, the world turned upside down, resulting in seven surgeries and a roller coaster of mental and physical recovery over seven years.\n<\/p>\n<p>  During her recovery, she discovered motorcycles and became known as &#8220;The Girl On A Bike&#8221;.\n<\/p>\n<p>  As a motorcyclist and racing driver, Vanessa speaks passionately about the challenges of recovering from a life-changing accident and making the most of every day despite chronic pain.\n<\/p>\n<p>  She said: \u201cMotorcycles that I started riding after an accident have become my love and passion.\n<\/p>\n<p>  \u201cIf you&#8217;d asked me seven years ago if I drove off-road motorcycles and gave motivational speeches, I would probably have choked on mine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bournemouthecho.co.uk\/leisure\/taste\/\" class=\"section-link\">drink<\/a>.  But life takes us on some amazing journeys. &#8216;\n<\/p>\n<p>  \u201cPeople can relate to my story because everyone is going through bad times.  We all have fights, some less visible than others, but with a positive attitude, determination, and a smile these fights can be a little easier.\n<\/p>\n<p>  &#8220;Hopefully I will inspire others to show that others can get through their difficult times if I can recover after seven operations and move on.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>  Vanessa spends her time sharing all elements of life, mostly related to motorcycles, and also does charity work by offering free workshops for British teenagers.\n<\/p>\n<p>  She uses her recovery to engage young minds and talks about resilience, goal setting and dealing with the pressures of life.\n<\/p>\n<p>  Given that Motorcycle TV&#8217;s Peoples Awards received a record 100,000 votes, it&#8217;s clear to say that Vanessa is an inspiration to women and men alike.\n<\/p>\n<p>  &#8220;I am on a mission to prove to myself that I can still do it, and I hope this continues to encourage others to stand up and take life by the horns,&#8221; she added.\n<\/p>\n<p>  &#8220;We only have one life, so let&#8217;s make the most of it, turn adversity into an opportunity to grow, and make the most of it.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><script src=\"https:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ONE BOURNEMOUTH The university graduate and YouTuber, who had to undergo seven operations after a car accident, won a national prize for her content. &#8216;The Girl On A Bike&#8217;, also known as Vanessa Ruck, is a 35-year-old rising star in the motorcycle world.
