Technically, this is the scrambler Ducati (as it is officially called) is the cheapest entry into the Italian brand. Combined with the growing appreciation of the market for scramblers and other off-road motorcycles, has made it one of Ducati’s most popular models.

Because of this, Ducati has regularly updated the Scrambler range since it was launched in 2014. In the 1960s, dirt bikes were not an official motorcycle segment. Those who wanted to go off-road at the time converted a road bike into a scrambler. And back then, those motorcycles were incredibly popular in the United States.

However, while several manufacturers offered scrambler conversion kits, initially none of them offered a factory option. But given the growing demand, some started developing. And in 1962, at the urging of US importer Joe Berliner, Ducati presented its first scrambler, the single-cylinder 250. Bike world reported.

1969 Ducati 450 Scrambler side | Ducati

Over the next few years, Ducati launched the 350 and 450 scramblers with larger capacities. However, the line ended after the single cylinder engine was discontinued. But the Italian scramblers have already built up a strong fan base. 916 designer Massimo Tamburini was reportedly a huge fan.

The yellow and black paintwork of the new 2022 Ducati Scrambler 1100 Tribute Pro is reminiscent of the look of the original 250 Scrambler. However, this isn’t the only homage on this bike. 2022 marks the 50thNS Anniversary of the Ducati 750 GT, the first motorcycle with the now iconic L-Twin. The engine of the modern Scrambler is derived from this L-Twin, which is why the 1100 Tribute Pro also bears a Ducati logo in the style of the 1970s.

However, under the retro paint scheme, the Scrambler 1100 Tribute Pro is identical to the outgoing 1100 Sport Pro. It also has an LCD display, three driving modes, cornering ABS and traction control, LED lighting and a storage space under the seat with a USB charger. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. There is a whole class of motorcycles that combine dirt bike elements with paved performance.

These motorcycles are called supermotos and are quite popular in Europe. So it makes sense that Ducati would make its dirt bike-neighboring motorcycle something for this segment. This is the new Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard 2022.

Although it shares the same chassis geometry as the other 803cc Scramblers, it has unique suspension and braking hardware. Bike world says. Its suspension isn’t as adjustable as the units on the 1100 Tribute Pro, but the Urban Motard has some of the same electronics. It also has Brembo brakes with cornering ABS, LED lighting and a USB charging port under the seat. The LCD display is also compatible with The Ducati motorcycle app.

In contrast to the Tribute Pro, however, the 2022 Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard lacks traction control. It also doesn’t have any adjustable driving modes. And to match his focus on paved roads, he has a variety of Pirelli tires. While the Tribute Pro MT 60 RS tires are off-road certified, the Urban Motard has Diablo Rosso IIIs.

How much do these new models cost?

TIED TOGETHER: Zeros S, DS and DSR get a 2022 Jolt and a Supermoto sibling

The cheapest 2022 Ducati Scrambler, the 803cc Icon Dark, starts at $ 8,995. Meanwhile, the Urban Motard Supermoto starts at $ 11,695; that’s $ 500 cheaper than the Desert Sled, but $ 300 more than the Nightshift. The Scrambler 1100 Tribute Pro, however, is the most expensive model: it starts at $ 13,995.

The Tribute Pro will not be available from US dealers until March 2022, with the Urban Motard following in April. So there is time to save some money. And while these prices may seem high, they are cheap when compared to the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC and Street Scrambler. So they will likely bring test drivers with them when the weather returns.

Follow other updates from MotorBiscuit on our Facebook site.

TIED TOGETHER: A Honda CL Scrambler is cheap classic off-road motorcycle fun

The monster could be the cheapest Ducati, but it’s not the cheapest bike Ducati makes.
