Motorbikes are an incredibly popular way of getting around but they are vulnerable to being stolen.<\/p>\n

Across West Yorkshire, motorcycles, quad bikes, mopeds and others have all been the target of thieves. However, some brands are more popular than others when it comes to motorbike theft.<\/p>\n

West Yorkshire Police<\/a>through an FOI from YorkshireLive<\/b> , have revealed the top ten most stolen brands. According to the police, these brands were stolen a combined 768 times in the year 2021 alone.<\/p>\n

Here is a complete list of the ten most commonly stolen motorbikes in West Yorkshire.<\/p>\n

Making up the bottom of the top ten list, the UK-owned Triumph had 22 of its motorcycles stolen from West Yorkshire roads last year.<\/p>\n

Only just coming above Triumph, Sinnis branded motorcycles were stolen 23 times in 2021, keeping them in ninth place.<\/p>\n

The century old Italian brand Piaggio, known for their electric scooters rather than their motorcycles, had stolen 30 of their vehicles, according to the West Yorkshire Police.<\/p>\n

Kawasaki<\/b> <\/h3>\n

There is a larger gap between Piaggio and Kawasaki than any other brand before, with 40 of the Japanese manufacturers’ vehicles being stolen.<\/p>\n

The Austrian manufacturer KTM specializes in off-road motorcycles and 44 KTM vehicles were stolen across West Yorkshire.<\/p>\n

SYM<\/b> <\/h3>\n

Between KTM and SYM there is a fairly tight gap with 46 SYM vehicles stolen, making the manufacturer the fifth most stolen brand according to West Yorkshire Police.<\/p>\n

There is a big jump between SYM and Suzuki with 70 of the Japanese brand stolen in the area.<\/p>\n

Lexmoto<\/b> <\/h3>\n

Lexmoto makes both motorcycles and scooters with 81 reported stolen to the police last year.<\/p>\n

Yamaha<\/b> <\/h3>\n

Yamaha is the most popular brand of motorbike in the UK, which makes its inclusion unsurprising. However, it has only taken second place with a massive jump from 81 Lexmoto vehicles stolen to 185 Yamaha vehicles.<\/p>\n

Honda<\/b> <\/h3>\n

In all of West Yorkshire, Honda motorbikes were the most reported stolen. According to West Yorkshire Police, 245 were stolen across 2021.<\/p>\n
