Electric motorcycle manufacturer LiveWire<\/a> is teasing its next bike. The bike will be revealed to the public on May 10, 2022. If we put all the pieces together, this machine could be the one that some say Harley-Davidson should have released before the first LiveWire model.<\/p>\n

Previous information<\/h3>\n

There have been several clues to help us make a good guess at what this machine will be; back in February of this year, we told you about Harley’s plans for its second electric motorcycle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Investor document materials<\/h3>\n

To recap, let’s look at some materials that the MoCo has already released. In a quarterly investors call, Harley investor documents (back before Harley spun off LiveWire into its own company\/brand) provide several hints about its future electric motorcycles.<\/p>\n

Reading those documents, we find that the first machine Harley planned to release was code-named the S2. Further, the documents say that the new machine will be \u201cExtending the portfolio to a range of middleweight applications.\u201d Better still, the bike is supposed to be less expensive than the original LiveWire.<\/p>\n

Adding more info into the pot, in that same investor’s call, Harley’s CEO Jochen Zeitz said that LiveWire’s next electric motorcycle would be called the \u201cLiveWire Del Mar\u201d and would be launched in Q2 of 2022.\n<\/p>\n

So that settles it then. This bike will be called the Del Mar and will be a \u201cmiddleweight\u201d machine. And it will be released sometime in the second quarter of this year.\n<\/p>\n

While that does tell us something, it doesn’t tell us much about that upcoming bike\u2014but we can glean some more information about LiveWire’s new Del Mar.\n<\/p>\n

Flat track racers?<\/h3>\n

As you can see in the teaser video, the primary scene is the flat track environment\u2026 and the Del Mar race track has a history of flat track racing. hmm…\n<\/p>\n

Then there are Harley’s previously released sketches of one of its potential new electric motorcycles.\n<\/p>\n
