A man on an “off-road” motorcycle has died after a crash in Bangor<\/a> today. Garth Road was closed for hours this morning following the one-vehicle collision.<\/p>\n Motorists were advised to avoid the area while police and emergency services worked at the scene. The air ambulance also attended the incident but sadly a local man in his 20s was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n Police are now appealing for witnesses following the crash. A spokeswoman for the force said: “North Wales Police<\/a> are appealing for witnesses to a single-vehicle collision in Bangor earlier today (Friday, April 8) in which one man sadly died.<\/p>\n read more: Bikers suffer life-changing injuries in four-vehicle crash which shut A5<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n “Emergency services were called to Garth Road outside the ‘Boatyard Inn’ at 10.55am to reports of a road traffic collision involving an off-road motorcycle.<\/p>\n “The motorcyclist, a local man aged in his 20’s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.” The road remained closed at 1.40pm, according to the Inrix traffic monitoring system.<\/p>\n Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Policing Unit added: \u201cOur investigation is now underway to establish the full circumstances of the collision in which a man has sadly lost his life.
