A teenager was hospitalized after his scrambler crashed into a car.
The incident occurred at 3:30 p.m. on Blanchardstown Road.
The teenager was admitted to Temple Street Hospital for injuries that were believed to be non-life threatening.
Sinn Fein TD Paul Donnelly, who passed the scene of the accident today, begged the young people to stop using the off-road motorcycles on public roads.
He said, “I hope it’s not too serious and they don’t have long-term injuries.”
“A few days ago a young girl was injured for life by a scrambler driver in another part of the city.”
He added, “Unfortunately, I am not surprised that this happens over and over again. If you are thinking of buying one for Christmas, don’t do so unless they have access to a track and it’s monitored.
“I beg young people, STOP! It’s all fun and games until you seriously injure or kill yourself or someone else.”
The Gardai told Dublin Live that the collision happened this afternoon and that a teenager was being rushed to the hospital.
A spokesman said: “Gardai and emergency services visited the site of a traffic collision that occurred today, Wednesday, April 27 NS October 2021.
“A scrambler and a car were involved in this collision. The driver of the scrambler, a teenage boy, was taken to Temple Street Hospital for treatment for his non-life-threatening injuries.”
They added, “The road is currently open for use.”
