Local residents who live near the Hylton Road playing fields say the most recent incident occurred on the night of Sunday / Monday morning December 12th / 13th.
The bike churned up a large part of one of the three parking spaces on the site. The trenches dug by the tires not only destroyed the turf, but also made the pitch dangerous.
A similar incident happened on October 15th in the same place. It happened again on November 21, despite the fact that the damaged lawn was outside the playing fields on that occasion.
Other parts of Sunderland are experiencing anti-social behavior with quads and off-road motorcycles. A pitch in earlier this year Ryhope looked like a plowed field.
A regulation for the protection of public spaces prohibits the “anti-social use of motorcycles, mopeds, quads, skateboards or bicycles” in the parks and playing fields of the municipality of Sunderland. But quads ignore this and easily gain access.

Sunderland City Council chairman Cllr Graeme Miller said, “We are all very aware of how annoying some bikers and motorcyclists can be.
“This recent incident is a very disturbing example of completely irresponsible and unnecessary criminal behavior affecting an entire neighborhood.
“We have partnered with the Northumbria Police Department and we will continue to take action against these motorcycle hooligans.
“I believe someone will know more about this incident and I would urge them to come forward and stand up for their community and tell us who is doing this.
“It can be a challenge for residents to get in touch and Report anti-social behavior, but they can do so with complete confidence, and with their help we can further improve the security of communities and prevent incidents like this one. “
Northumbria Police Commissioner and Criminal Police Superintendent Kim McGuinness has urged the government to enact new laws to tackle rogue drivers. She wants all motorcycles to have trackers to monitor their speed and position.
