A MONMOUTH Youtuber has been nominated for the national motorcycle award and competes against big hitters.
The Girl On A Bike, also known as Vanessa Ruck, has been nominated for a national motorcycle award for her creative content.
Up-and-coming star Vanessa said she couldn’t believe she was nominated in the same category as social media giant RoyalJordanian and would love to see her do well in the competition.
Vanessa is an accomplished social media star with nearly 27,000 subscribers on Youtube and winning about 600 every month. Her channel draws nearly 60,000 views a month. It can be found at youtube.com/TheGirlOnABike.
The competitive enduro rally driver Vanessa has just returned from the Rallye Du Maroc and bagged a first prize. She believes it’s because of the footage, in which she participates in really challenging events or travels to breathtaking countries. That is why their videos on Youtube are energetic, inspiring and beautiful.
Vanessa worked in marketing for 10 years when life took a devastating turn, rode a bike to work and was run over by a car that went over a red light.
She said: “Motorcycles that I started riding after an accident have become my love and passion. If you’d asked me seven years ago if I rode off-road motorcycles, I would probably have choked on my drink! But life takes us on some amazing journeys. People can relate to my story because everyone is going through bad times and I think they cheer me on to keep doing better. Hopefully I will inspire others to show that if I can recover after 7 operations, others can get through their difficult times. “
