Harley-Davidson has teamed up with seven-time Dakar rally competitor Mick Extance to create a new off-road adventure school in Wales.

Launching in 2022, the HD Adventure Center offers Harley fans the chance to push the Pan America Adventure Bike to its limits off-road and take in the breathtaking Welsh countryside on a series of scenic road rides.

The school will be located on Mick’s 1,500 hectare adventure playground in the Berwyn Mountains near Llangynog, which the rally veteran is already using for his off-road enduro adventure events.

For a sensation at the Harley-Davidson Pan America

“This bike is a very capable off-road bike and I want to share that passion of mine and introduce it to people in a safe way,” Extance told MCN. “From the minute I rode it, I thought ‘what a cool bike’. It’s got amazing traction control, it’s very adequate off-road, it’s a great entry into the adventure bike market. “

This is not the first time Mick has been involved in Pan America as he has already supported the press launch in May 2020 and rides the bike for demonstrations at events such as the Adventure Bike Rider Festival.

“We have 1,500 acres and we want to give people the confidence to ride this bike on and off-road,” added Extance. “That’s the whole point of adventure riding.”

More details on pricing and availability will be released along with a bespoke website early next year. But Mick hopes to be able to do more in the future than just teach on the Pan Am …

He continued: “A rally called ‘The Real Way to Dakar’ has been launched. It’s the traditional route from France down to Morocco and Mauritania and Senegal. I think this is going to be a cool trip and I would really like it . “
