Horizon City man killed when motorcycle crashed into rock face

HORIZON CITY, Texas – El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies said a 32-year-old man from Horizon City was killed in a motorcycle accident Tuesday morning.

Eric Estevez died when his off-road motorcycle crashed into a rock face on the 1200 block of Zapata, Horizon City. Investigators had not determined why Estevez lost control of the dirt bike.

MPs said Estevez, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

In a statement on the accident, the Sheriff’s Office said it “encouraged motorcyclists to wear helmets and never ride off-road motorcycles and ATVs on the road”.
