MIC offers a new ride-sharing resource

To help powersports retailers get the most out of social media platforms to connect with current and potential customers, the Motorcycle Industry Council made its Ride With Us social content playbook available to its members.

“A core principle of Ride With Us is to connect directly with riders and potential riders, and social media is a great tool to do just that,” said Cinnamon Kernes, vice president of market expansion at MIC. “It’s also an easy way to welcome new riders into our world of two- and three-wheeler riding, and it can help them develop a sense of community that will keep them riding.”

This playbook is aimed at retailers who manage social media themselves and / or need content ideas and tips to effectively manage social channels, especially on Instagram and Facebook. MIC members can find the playbook at MIC website under the Resources tab or by clicking here and logging in: Social Content Playbook (mic.org).

This playbook is another part of Ride With Us, the powersports industry’s market expansion program. This multi-faceted initiative aims to inspire people to try horse riding; helps them explore different types of vehicles as well as training and driving options; put them in contact with dealers and other drivers; and helps them to incorporate horse riding into their lives.

This summer, the MIC announced a new 45-minute experience for people who have never ridden a motorcycle before – the Ride With Us Moto Intro. All equipment and bikes are provided, and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s RiderCoaches guide new riders through basic motorcycle controls and help them experience their first ride in a closed, controlled environment. The MIC brought the free Ride With Us Moto Intro experience in five locations this summer, including Comotos Get On! Moto Fest at Texas Motor Speedway; Progressive IMS Outdoors shows in Sonoma, California, the Chicagoland area and near Philadelphia; and the Overland Expo Mountain West outside of Denver. This fall, Ride With Us Moto Intro takes place:

  • Progressive IMS Outdoors in Atlanta, Georgia: May 29-31 October
  • Overland Expo East in Arrington, Virginia: Aug. October
  • Progressive Outdoor IMS in Southern California: May 19-21 November (location still open)

The Driver’s Journey continues online at RideWithUs.com for information and resources on next steps, driver education and training, including finding an MSF Basic Driver Course.
