In a number of incidents in Wellingborough, police have warned that there is a “zero tolerance” approach to motorcycle harassment in the city.
Earlier this week officials warned that anyone who ignored their warning would be subject to “invariably” enforcement action.
And they are now requesting footage after a line of all-terrain bikes were seen in town in town today (Friday) breaking the law and ignoring police orders.
Chief Inspector Tom Thompson said, “We are currently dealing with a number of off-road motorcycles in Wellingborough and this behavior will not be tolerated as it causes real concern in the community.
“We cannot accept behavior that adversely affects the quality of life of the people in the area, and by driving this way, you not only endanger them, but also yourself, in a serious collision.
“Tackling antisocial behavior is a priority for the Northamptonshire Police force and that is because it is one of the top issues that the public across the county regularly raises. I would like to ask anyone with footage of today’s incidents to contact us on 101 so that we can arrange the viewing of this footage and the treatment of the perpetrators. “
The raid is part of Operation Judgment’s month of action, which aims to combat vehicle harassment, with people being encouraged to provide information by email. to send [email protected], and continue to report incidents on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
